SBVR — Section: 8

  • Key: SBVR-93
  • Legacy Issue Number: 9942
  • Status: closed
  • Source: Rule ML Initiative ( Mr. Donald R. Chapin)
  • Summary:

: Representations of 'Objects' Belong in Vocabularies Indications of 'objects' by representations (that can be treated as existential assertions) need to be able to be included as entries in 'vocabularies' without having to form an'individual concept' about them. The original justification for omitting this capability "because ISO requires everything in a vocabulary (terminology) to be a concept" turns out to be based on a lack of knowledge about the ISO TC 37 position on this subject. In conjunction, 'definite' description' for 'objects' needs to be added to support statements that uniquely identify (not form or define a concept about) 'objects'. SEE: 1.
