    4.8.l7 should make clear that it does not apply to Enumerations and Primitives (which are subclasses of DataType). In this section datatype should be properly written DataType.
    The sentence "In the instance document, the value of the datatype appears as character content." is not generally correct as shown by the example of Point in this section.
