Summary:
The document MOF 2.0 XMI Mapping (ptc/04-06-11) contains some (typographical) errors in the EBNF for XML Document Production (Chapter 9). The proposed corrections are listed below: 1a:XMI ::= "<" 1b:XMINamespace "XMI" 1c:StartAttribs ">" ( 2a:XMIObjectElement)* ( 3:Extension )* "</" 1b:XMINamespace "XMI>" 1b:XMINamespace ::= (1h:NsName ":") ? 1e:Namespaces ::= 1f:XMINamespaceDecl ? ( "xmlns:" 1h:NsName "=’" 1i:NsURI "’" )* 1f:XMINamespaceDecl ::= "xmlns=’http://www.omg.org/XMI’" | "xmlns:" 1h:NsName "=’http://www.omg.org/XMI’" 1g:Namespace ::= ( 1h:NsName ":" )? 2h:FeatureAttrib ::= 2i:XMIValueAttribute | 2j:XMIReferenceAttribute 3:Extension ::= "<" 1b:XMINamespace "extension" (" extender=’" // extender // "’")? (" extenderID=’" // extenderID // "’")? ">" // Extension elements // "</" 1b:XMINamespace "extension>" Furthermore, the notation for placeholders throughout the document is inconsistent. Chapter 8 uses text in enclosed double slashes (//placeholder//), whereas in Chapter 9 (without any introduction) placeholders are shown in italics. Please clarify or correct.

Disposition: Resolved — XMI 2.4
-
Disposition Summary:
This is now section 6.4.1. There are more errors in the EBNF rules than pointed out in the original issue, and the current formatting of the EBNF rules in the document allows ambiguous interpretation. Therefore, all EBNF rules in section 6.4.1 will be replaced, and the missing rule “3. Extension” added.
