UPDM — MODAF Re-Use

MODAF Re-Use: In general, this version of UPDM re-uses large swathes of MODAF, and in particular the M3. It needs to be made clear that UPDM is not an entirely original work. In public presentations, features that have existed for a long time in M3 (such as re-use of resources, nodes, etc. in OV-1) have been passed off as innovations made in UPDM, when they are not.

Resolution POTENTIAL SOLUTION:UPDM is a UML implementation of the MODAF and DoDAF frameworks, and as such it could not have been produced without taking concepts, structures and descriptions, etc, from them. Though it is therefore inferred that MODAF and DoDAF are huge contributors to the submission, it should be made clearer in the documentation.This hi-lights a more general issue that we should ensure that contributing organizations are referenced/acknowledged in the UPDM specification.
