Fig44 - NodePort. There is no need for this in OV-2. I realise it's here because a number of UML tools can't do composite class diagrams without ports. One of the main purposes of OV-2 is to communicate a logical architecture in a simple, uncluttered manner. Ports are not likely to help with this (the main users of OV-2 don't tend to be UML fans anyway).

Resolution NodePorts are required for people trying to use a SysML approach in conjunction with UPDM. We should document that the NodePorts don't have to be used and they're there to provide a more detailed view if it's required.Another reason to include them is that they were specifically requested as a TRADOC requirement.
