Legacy Issue Number: 13641
-
Status: closed

Source: Dassault Systemes ( Mr. Andrius Strazdauskas)

Summary:
The examples of the SV-9 on the MODAF website don't obviously map to the implementation in MODAF/UPDM. TechnologyArea doesn't exist and the cells in the table seem to relate to model items (e.g. "Software") rather than text in the Forecast comment.

Resolution: Forecast extends dependency with properties StartTime EndTime. Goes between resources and SubjectOfForecast add Boolean tag to resource for TA Action-Architecture teamPOTENTIAL SOLUTION: The solution that requires the least change is as follows:Add a boolean tag to "Resource" called "isTechnologyArea".Add a constraint to "Resource" to specify that when "isTechnologyArea" is TRUE, "isAbstract" must also be TRUE.To create the example SV-9, shown on the MODAF website, you'd do the following:Create a new "Software" class called "Office Application" and set it's "isTechnologyArea" tag to TRUE.Create three new "Software" classes called "Office 2000", "Office 2005" and "Office Distributed", and make these specializations of "Office Application".Create three new "Forecast" comments with date ranges set to short, medium and long term dates.Connect each "Forecast" to all thee concrete "Software" classes. With this in place you could then derive the information required for the table. A view option could be added to the view to allow the body text of the comment to be displayed somewhere.
