Summary:
it seems inappropriate to
model service consumption in this way. It does not allow the architect to show that a
particular node is both a consumer and a provider of different services. This approach
forces the architect to produce two nodes one for production and one for consumption
even when it is clearly the same node producing and consuming. The work done in
developing SOA views by UK and Sweden would seem to indicate that OV-2 is not
appropriate in a true SOA approach most SOA orchestration approaches map the
services to the activities that use them rather than to nodes. The nodes that produce and
consume services can then be derived by examining the activities they perform -
