UPDM — Operational Views

The Operational Views form the linchpin of a MODAF architecture – they either serve to abstract
an as-is architecture into a logical structure, or present a logical requirement for a to-be
architecture. It is not at all clear that UPDM handles this. Of particular concern is the use of the
Materiel stereotype (see details below) which is not well defined and seems to connect logical and
physical elements with no clear semantics. The need for Material is also questionable – it seems an
unnecessary element to create in order to associate other elements
