Summary:
A direct comparison between entities within MODAF/ NAF and UPDM shows a number of distinct differences. The ones of major concern are:
· There is a major difference between MODAF/ NAF and UPDM as regards the handling of InformationElement and DataElement. In MODAF/ NAF these are atomic and tied in the data model to a standard where an entity within the standard can go into detail as regards their internal contents. UPDM does not seem to have a data model entity at all making it difficult to assess what should actually be shown as an OV-7 or SV-11 view should this view be desirable. The lack in this area is seen as a UPDM disadvantage.
· MODAF/ NAF contain various specialisations of standard the support the handling of bandwidth and spectrum handling and this is considered an advantage for MODAF/ NAF in comparison with UPDM. -
