  • Key: BPMN21-206
  • Legacy Issue Number: 15638
  • Status: open
  • Source: craftware.net ( Eduardo Jara)
  • Summary:

    ANTECEDENTS:

    i) Chapter/Section 7.2. Page 28, it says:

“There are four (4) Connecting Objects:
    Sequence Flows
    Message Flows
    Associations
    Data Associations”

    and

“The current set of Artifacts includes:
    Group
    Text Annotation”

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ii) Chapter/Section 8.3.1. Figure 8.8. Page 66.

In Figure 8.8 “Association” is a type of “Artifact”.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    iii) Chapter/Section 11.3.2. Page 331.
When describing Artifacts in Choreographies, it says: “Both Text Annotations and Groups can be used within Choreographies and all BPMN diagrams. There are no restrictions on their use.”

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    COMMENTS:

In “Associations” are identified as connectors, and are not included among the “Artifacts”.

In (ii) According to the Meta-model “Association” is an “Artifact”, and it is described inside Section “8.3.12 Artifacts” (p.67). but in other parts of the document this fact is ignored.

In (iii) “Associations” are not mentioned as a type of “Artifact”.

    SUGGESTION:

On pages 28 and 331, state that “Association” is a type of “Artifact” in order to be consistent with the meta-model.
