    It says:
    “…one from a item-aware element (e.g., an Activity) contained by the source of the Sequence Flow, …”

    “Activity” is not an item-aware element, but it contains an item-aware element (see Figure 10.50, p. 211; Figure 10.57, p. 219).

    Then, it should say:
    “…one from an item-aware element contained by the source of the Sequence Flow (e.g., an Activity), …”
