    It should say
    “The Event element inherits the attributes and model associations of FlowElement (see Table 8.44), through its relationship to FlowNode, but adds no additional attributes or model associations.”

    Event is direct subclass of FlowNode, which is direct subclass of FlowElement. (See Figure 8.20, p. 84.)
