Summary:
The placement of the labels “CardOut
{0..13}” and “OK” is ambiguous. A reader may confuse which message they are associated with. Also, the non-UML arrow associated with the “TimeObservation” label (outside of the diagram frame) is unnecessarily cluttering the diagram.
Proposed Resolution: Move the “CardOut {0..13}” and “OK” labels to eliminate the ambiguity. Move the “TimeObservation” label to the right side of the figure to de-clutter the diagram.

Do not agree that the caption placements in Figure 17.5 are ambiguous, especially since a similar caption placement
is used in Figure 17.3.
Also, the TimeObservation red arrow pointer is acceptable as it is in Figure 17.5.
