Summary:
DoDAF describes the OV-5a as: "OV-5a: Operational Activity Decomposition Tree: The capabilities and activities (operational activities) organized in a hierarchal structure."
The UAF EA Guide Figure 4:18 - Conceptual Schema for Operational Architectures (p41) shows a Generalization/whole-part relationship is applicable to Operational Agent, Capability, and Resource Performer, but NOT Operational Activity.
The UAF EA Guide Figure 4:21 - Step 3.2: Capture Operational Behaviors (p46) shows the OV-5a being the DoDAF equivalent of the Op-Pr Operational Processes
The UAF EA Guide Figure 4:23 - Step 3.4: Analyze Operational Structure (p48) shows the OV-5a being the DoDAF equivalent of the Op-Pr Operational Processes: Operational Activity Decomposition Map.
The UAF EA Guide Table in 4.3.5 Architecture View Summary for Step 3 (p50) captures the two above assertions in its table.Furthermore, in both the UAF DMM and UAFML, the description for View Specifications::Operational::Processes::Operational Processes makes no mention of capturing activity decomposition.
