SYSML14 — Concern Relation Limitations

SysML 1.3 supports the description of concerns for stakeholders and viewpoints. When modeling stakeholders and viewpoints and their respective concerns the viewpoint identifies the sub-set of the stakeholders concerns that are addressed by the viewpoint. The issue is that since these properties are currently typed by strings in the stereotype for stakeholder and viewpoint, they must be redundantly stated in both stakeholder and viewpoint description. This allows the description text to potentially diverge or conversely burden the model developer with having to change the model in 2 places.

This resolution adds to previous resolutions made in response to issue 18653. A
summary of the proposed changes in this resolution is simply to type concern with
the meta-class “comment” rather than string. This allows the concerns to be reusable
but still be a simple string.
