Summary:
The SysML specification inadvertently omitted the join spec notation from the Diagram Elements Table in the Activities Chapter). The join spec is useful for specifying more complex control flow logic than is available with Join Nodes and Fork Nodes alone.
The recommendation is to include join spec notation in the concrete syntax column in JoinNode and ForkNode row of Table 11.1 of the Activities Chapter. The notation is described in Figure 12.102 in the UML Superstructure Spec under the Join Node section 12.3.34. The notation is a constraint notation in curly shown near a Join Node or the Fork Node. A specific example is provided in Figure 12.104.
