Summary:
It is not clear what should be done if the user calls read, take, or any of their variants when the following conditions are met:
- The method is called with max_samples = 0
- There is data available that would be returned with max_samples > 0
I think we have two options here:
- Return NO_DATA
- Return OK with a resulting collection with len = 0
The last sentence of the section seems to indicate the latter...
If the DataReader has no samples that meet the constraints, the return value will be NO_DATA
... but the definition of NO_DATA on page 5 seems to indicate the former (as no data is returned)
Indicates a transient situation where the operation did not
return any data but there is no inherent error. -
