Summary:
SQL grammar in BNF in clause B.2 limits topic names to the following characters: [A-Za-z0-9\-]+.
The DDS specification should add support for more characters. Some candidates are "/", ":", ".", "_". The latter is actually used in the DDS-XTYPES as a separator in the mapping of interfaces to request and reply topics.
