Summary:
Most statuses (and the callbacks corresponding to them) have names ending in a past tense verb (e.g. LivelinessLost, LivelinessChanged, *DeadlineMissed, etc.). This convention makes the names very understandable because they refer to an actual thing that happened.
The publication and subscription match statuses/callbacks violate this convention, however. They are named after the match itself, not the event of matching.Proposed Resolution:
To make the match statuses/callbacks consistent, they should be called PublicationMatchedStatus (on_publication_matched) and SubscriptionMatchedStatus (on_subscription_matched).Proposed Revised Text:
Replace "PublicationMatchStatus" with "PublicationMatchedStatus," "on_publication_match" with "on_publication_matched," "SubscriptionMatchStatus" with "SubscriptionMatchedStatus," and "on_subscription_match" with "on_subscription_matched" in the DomainParticipantListener table in 2.1.2.2.3.
Perform the same substitutions in the DataWriter table in 2.1.2.4.2 and in the DataWriterListener table in 2.1.2.4.4.
Perform the same substitutions in the DataReader table in 2.1.2.5.3 and in the DataReaderListener table in 2.1.2.5.7.
Rename "PublicationMatchStatus" to "PublicationMatchedStatus" and "SubscriptionMatchStatus" to "SubscriptionMatchedStatus" in figure 2-13, in the immediately following table of statuses, and in the IDL PSM definitions of the types PublicationMatchStatus, SubscriptionMatchStatus, DataWriterListener, DataReaderListener, DataWriter, and DataReader.
