Legacy Issue Number: 8560

Status: closed

Summary:
The DDS supports timestamping of information, either automatically or manually. These timestamps also appear in the SampleInfo data. What is missing is a get_current_time() call that allows applications to retrieve the current-time in the format as is utilized by the DDS. This means that the returned format and starting-time is the same as is used by the default/internal DDS timestamping.
Resolution:
Add such a 'get_current_time()' function to the participant class
Revised Text:
Add and explain the method and update the PSM. -
