DDS — DDS ISSUE# 41] Inconsistent use of instance in datawriter api

  • Key: DDS-134
  • Legacy Issue Number: 6840
  • Status: closed
  • Source: Real-Time Innovations ( Dr. Gerardo Pardo-Castellote, Ph.D.)
  • Summary:

    Ref-116 Inconsistent_use_of_instance_in_datawriter_api

Currently Section 2.1.2.5.1 mentions the function dispose_instance
    which does not exist.

A broader issue is that we have functions called
register_instance/unregister_instance, but other functions that also
apply to an instance (dispose, write, dispose_w_timestamp,
write_w_timestamp, etc.) do not have "instance" in their name... This
    can lead to some confusion

    **PROPOSAL**

    Rename dispose_instance to dispose

Fix the sequence chart in figure 2.1.6.1

    Leave the register_instance alone
