Summary:
Summary: For a POA that has IdAssignmentPolicy=SYSTEM, there is a portability
problem in the combination of the POA generation of an ObjectId and
the language functions that convert between ObjectId and string. The C++ functions PortableServer::ObjectId_to_string (and wstring)
state thatIf conversion of an ObjectId to a string would
result in illegal characters in the string (such
as a NUL), the [...] functions throw the
CORBA::BAD_PARAM exception. This apparently assumes that the conversion does nothing but take the
sequence of octet and recast it as a char*. Thus, an embedded null
would cause the string to be interpreted as shorter than the sequence,
so it"s an error. -
