Summary:
Summary: Jishnu has pointed out (very pointedly i might add that a whole slew of
upwardly incompatible changes have been made to the IR.E.g. old structs that have been modified (e.g. full interface description),
new structs have been added, operations added to container, changed
tckind, etc., etc.The question before us is how, if at all, to reflect this change.
We came up with several options (listed in no particular order and
with no particular recommendation.)1. Do nothing. This is the traditional approach but probably becoming
less and less appropriate as we mature2. Add a #pragma version name_of versioned_thingy major.minor
for every definition. (Jishnu thinks that in
principle all the #pragma version statements could go in one place,
say at the end of the CORBA module. [We leave it as exercise to the
reader to work out why they have to go at the end] )3. Change the name of the enclosing module. say CORBA -> CORBA_2_3, gulp!!
