Summary:
Summary: how is the ORB object destroyed? There is no ORB::destroy() operation,
like for the POA. (With "destroy", I mean to remove it from memory
(C++), or to allow it to be garbage collected (Java).)Is shutdown to be meant to destroy the ORB? If so, then this must be
clarified in the specification. For example, if shutdown() destroys the
ORB, all subsequent calls to ORB operations (via ORB references) must
raise OBJECT_NOT_EXIST, just as it is with any other (locality
constrained) object. If shutdown() does not destroy the ORB, but just shuts down
communications and stops handling of further requests, then some other
operation is needed to destroy the ORB. -
