BPMN2 — Target namespace mismatch between the XML Schemas in the spec (PDF) and the XML Schemas files (XSD)

There is currently a mismatch between the target namespace of the XML Schemas in the spec (PDF) and the XML Schemas files (XSD) themselves. This applies to Beta 1.

In the PDF specification that are several instances where the target namespace for the XML Schemas is defined as “http://www.omg.org/bpmn20”:

• Table 8.2 (page 44)

• Table 8.16 (page 53)

• Table 10.19 (page 150)

However the latest available XML Schemas (bmi/09-05-05) have the target namespace set to “http://schema.omg.org/spec/BPMN/2.0”.

If the XML Schemas are correct then the specification should reflect the same target namespace.

The FTF acknowldges the proposed namespace does not follow OMG guidelines for namespace conventions. The final namespaces will be:

• http://www.omg.org/spec/BPMN/20100524/MODEL for the semantic model XML Schema
• http://www.omg.org/spec/BPMN/20100524/MODEL-XMI for the semantic model XMI
• http://www.omg.org/spec/BPMN/20100524/DI for diagram interchange XML Schema
• http://www.omg.org/spec/BPMN/20100524/DI-XMI for diagram interchange XMI xsds
