BPMN2 — Beta 1 [Section 12.1.2] - OrchestrationDiagram should be called ProcessDiagram

  • Key: BPMN2-185
  • Legacy Issue Number: 14746
  • Status: closed
  • Source: International Business Machines ( Ms. Suzette Samoojh)
  • Summary:

In the visual metamodel, a Choreography is visualized in a ChoreographyDiagram, a Collaboration is visualized in a CollaborationDiagram, and yet a Process is not visualized with a ProcessDiagram as I would expect but rather an OrchestrationDiagram.

For consistency and clarity in terminology, the OrchestrationDiagram should be called ProcessDiagram. Was there a reason it couldn't be?

I don't think there was a special reason behind the decision to use "OrchestrationDiagram". So, it would be fine with me to rename it to "ProcessDiagram"
