    While there is overlap between the concepts, Boolean and enumerated types are both supported in most programming languages because of implied differences in meaning. For that reason, XTCE will continue to support Booleans as a separate data type. Booleans can be implemented as an enumerated type by ground systems, but for a round-trip exchange, the True/False enumerations would have to be recognized as an XTCE Boolean.
