    It should be clarified that hrefs do not have to refer to physical XMI
    documents that exist concurrently with the document to hand: the href could
    refer to elements in a database or repository so long as, when the first
    document is processed, the href can be navigated on demand to produce the
    referred-to document or element in XMI form.
