UAF12 — Opportunities to pursue in moving the enterprise towards the target states

Opportunities represent a “possibility due to a favorable combination of circumstances”. Opportunities are identified and prioritized based on their ability to address the Challenges identified in the upfront identification of enterprise Drivers. Opportunities for changes to the enterprise and its underlying operational and resource assets are identified to serve as basis for assessing architectural tradeoffs.

Opportunities can present additional Risks to the enterprise or to its stakeholders. Need to expand Risk to cover more than security risks (see other issue on expanding use of risk beyond security). Risk Mitigation should be more general than that which performs security process or satisfies security control (shown in attached file).
