SYSML2 — ISQ in specification and libraries not aligned

  • Key: SYSML2-185
  • Status: closed
  • Source: NIST ( Mr. Conrad Bock)
  • Summary:

For example, comparing Clause 9.8.4 (ISQ) to ISQSpaceTime library,

    • universalCartesianSpatial3dCoordinateFrame is missing from the spec
    • In Clause (9.8.4.2.5),
      • Title is Cartesian3dSpatialCoordinateSystem, but the library and the rest of the spec has it as Cartesian3dSpatialCoordinateFrame.
      • General is VectorMeasurementReference, but the library specializes it from Spatial3dCoordinateFrame, which isn't in the spec.

    Might be others.

  • Reported: SysML 2.0a1 — Wed, 3 May 2023 15:29 GMT
  • Disposition: Resolved — SysML 2.0b2
  • Disposition Summary:

    Update ISQ model

The complete set of normative ISQ models is very large. The documentation in 9.8.4 ISQ in the specification is currently maintained by hand, so it is not practical to include everything in these libraries. The documentation is currently limited to just key elements from the ISQBase and ISQSpaceTime models, particularly those used in documenting other library models.

This resolution focuses on improving the documentation of elements from the ISQSpaceTime library, relative to problems specifically identified in the issue description. A more general resolution for completing the ISQ documentation can be handled through a separate issue or issues in the future. Note that documentation for universalSpatial3dCoordinateFrame was already added to the specification by the resolution of SYSML2-182.
