Summary:
The last three issues indicate modelers shouldn't be forced to define compatibility for types related by generalization. Such reclassifications are so common as knowledge about instances changes that the modeler would need to apply compatibility to all generalizations in their models. Perhaps this could be addressed by assuming unrequired compatibility between types and their generalizations. Another option might be to batch declare compatibility for generalization at the level of packages.
