SMM11 — Scope of a measure should be made optional

The following changes have been submitted and are pending with the SMM (Structured Metrics
Metamodel) RTF.

Scope of a measure should be made optional.

Keep scope required. Add two new attributes, name and description. Add a new constraint that requires that either the class attribute is given or that both the name and description attributes are given. In the spec, give as example: Area of a square; no class named “square”. Binary Measure with “area” as trait (maybe “size” as parent of “area”), “times” as functor, Base Measure1 being Side1 Length and Base Measure2 being Side2 Length. Scope with “Square” as name, and “2 dimensional closed object with 4 equal length sides” as description.
