    Summary:

    It is not clear why we should need a lock/unlock on the Cache when we can turn on and off the automatic updates. If an application does not want to be interrupted by incoming updates, it can simply disable the automatic updates, re-enabling them afterwards.

    Proposed Resolution:

    Remove the lock and unlock methods of the Cache.
