C2MS11 — REQUEST-ID field does not support usage as a GUID

  • Key: C2MS11-16
  • Status: closed
  • Source: Kratos RT Logic, Inc. ( Mr. Mike Anderson)
  • Summary:

From Justin: The REQUEST-ID field was defined as a U16. Recommend this field be changed to be a string to allow it to be utilized as a GUID. This allows it to work better for transport of existing interfaces that utilize a GUID to ensure message uniqueness, especially when multiple instances of the application are running concurrently.

  • Disposition: Resolved — C2MS 1.1b1
  • Disposition Summary:

    Add GUID type

After discussion, it has been proposed that we do this one in 1.1.

Showing the change to one figure (Figure 8-7. Directive Response Diagram), which illustrates replacing the REQUEST-ID type from U16 to GUID. The others mentioned will all be changed in the same fashion. Rather than making all the changes here, we are voting on this style. There will be a subsequent issue to capture ALL the Figure and Table changes accounting for all the C2MS1.1 issues already accepted.
